Mainspring is the trading name of the watch repair workshop at 215/8 Nimmanhaemin Road, Chiang Mai. This document explains how we collect and use personal information provided to us through our website, by telephone or in person at the workshop. We handle personal data carefully and do not use it for purposes beyond those described here.

We collect only the information needed to manage your service enquiry or booking. This includes:
- Contact details — name, email address and telephone number submitted through the contact form or provided during a call or workshop visit.
- Service information — details about your watch, its condition and the service you are enquiring about, provided in correspondence or at the point of intake.
- Website usage data — anonymised data collected via cookies and analytics tools about how visitors interact with our website. This does not identify you personally.
We do not collect financial information directly. Any payment is handled in person at the workshop.
Legal basis: Processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (where given) and our legitimate interest in responding to service enquiries and managing workshop operations.
Retention: Service records, including contact details and work documentation, are retained for up to five years from the date of service. Enquiries that do not result in a booking are deleted within 12 months.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your service enquiry and arrange a workshop assessment or appointment.
- To prepare and communicate service plans, estimates and invoices.
- To maintain a record of work carried out on watches in our care, including for Vintage Revival projects where documentation is part of the service.
- To improve the website based on anonymised usage patterns.
We do not send marketing communications. We do not share, sell or rent your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.
Third Parties and Data Sharing
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the website:
- Google Analytics — anonymised website usage data. No personally identifiable information is transmitted. IP anonymisation is enabled.
- Google Maps — an embedded map on our homepage to display our workshop location. Google's own privacy policy applies to this service.
- Email hosting — correspondence sent to our email address is processed by our hosting provider. We use reputable providers with appropriate data handling practices.
We may be required to share information with Thai authorities if required by law. We will only do so to the extent required.
How We Protect Your Data
- Our website is served over HTTPS. All data transmitted via the contact form is encrypted in transit.
- Email correspondence is stored on password-protected accounts with reputable hosting providers.
- Physical service records held at the workshop are stored in a locked cabinet, accessible only to workshop staff.
- Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to carry out your service.
